Kalgoorlie Markets to be brought to life

The Kalgoorlie City Markets Arcade will come alive with local art, music, film and comedy on Saturday 6 May for the Heartwalk City Markets Wrap Party.

The 18+ event offers a sensational program of free and ticketed shows onsite, as well as a vibrant buzzing atmosphere throughout the whole market space.

The Lunch Bowl will be dishing up delicious food on the night and the Beaten Track Brewery Pop-Up Arcade Bar will be serving their favourite local brews until late.

The event commemorates the end of Heartwalk 2017, a locally driven project aimed at revitalising Kalgoorlie’s CBD through the installation of professionally curated, high quality painted murals.

Heartwalk Creative Director Paula Fletcher said, “Heartwalk is all about breathing life into our urban spaces- I’ve always loved the beautiful Kalgoorlie Market arcade and can’t wait to see it transformed into a pop up party venue."

“This is such a great way to bring together all the different people and organisations that have made this project possible, and celebrate the beginning of a very exciting time of cultural transformation in our city,” said Paula.

But it doesn't just stop at visual art, Paula said the event will also be providing a platform for emerging performance artists and producers in Kalgoorlie.

You will be able to enjoy live local music by Eleven13 Records, stand up comedy from The Comedy Emporium, script reading of Zack Inglis’ locally produced feature film, and be encouraged to put on your dancing shoes later in the night for Tomás Fords Crap Music Rave Party.

The Comedy Emporium Ringleader Julian Canny said, “I started my career in comedy in Kalgoorlie and it's so great to come back and working with the community that gave me my first shot.”

“I love this community and think it deserves a vibrant exciting nightlife scene,” said Julian.
