STRETCH FESTIVAL LAUNCHES MANDURAH COMEDY CLUB

Tickets available from … www.thecomedyemporium.com

MANDURAH nights are about to get a whole lot funnier as regional WA comedy club The Comedy Emporium launches the first ever local comedy club in Mandurah on the 8th of May as part of the Stretch Arts Festival.

With a huge line up of international, national and Perth comedians, the launch show promises to be an awesome night out. The highlight of the new club is to give local Mandurah up and coming comedians the chance to partner with international acts and perform on stage. A workshop program is also being set up to help anyone that would like to get involved in the industry.

We want to create the next generation of funny makers in Regional WA. We like to create opportunities for local people to get involved in local comedy and have ownership over its local club. I would love to see the Mandurah community get involved in this unique opportunity.” - said The Comedy Emporium Ringleader Julian Canny

With the full lineup soon to be announced, the night will feature local musicians and over 9 comedians at the Fish Trap Theatre in the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.

“The coolest thing about this project is that now you won’t have to take the midnight train or freeway back from Perth just to go check out a real comedy club.” - said Canny.

The Comedy Emporium is regional WA’s largest stand-up comedy club with local clubs in Geraldton, Bunbury and now launching in Mandurah.

“We have some of the country’s funniest touring comedians to make sure this first show in Mandurah is the start of something awesome. The best thing about comedy clubs that you won’t  get on TV or in a big theatre is the intimate experience with a comedian you may have never seen before.” - said Canny.

Limited presale tickets are available from the Mandurah Performing Art Centre Website at $25 each, or on the door for $35 each.

Doors open 6.45pm, live music from 7pm and live comedy at 8pm.

No BYO alcohol. Bar available.

For enquiries or information on workshops please ring Julian on 0458 306 111.
