The Comedy Emporium Mandurah and the City of Mandurah have teamed up to create a new comedy competition for wanna-be comedians and performers in Peel.  As part of Stretch Festival The Comedy Emporium will be running 6 FREE workshops which will lead into a competition open mic night with prize money and the opportunity to perform alongside some great comedians at the The Comedy Scoop Show at the Channel Seven Mandurah Crabfest presented by LiveLighter on Saturday March 19.

Workshops are free and the heats will take place on the 3rd and 10th of March at Murphy’s Irish Pub. A winner will be voted on by the audience. Be entertained by the professional MC and headline for the show it will be well worth the $12 to get in.

The Comedy Emporium’s aim is to help people in the peel region have a go at performing stand up comedy. Over the 6 workshops you can expect to learn the art of writing a joke and performing from comedians working in the industry . Its great for people who have always wanted to try comedy or those who wish to be more witty around the water cooler.

Although the competition is open to anyone, the workshops are not compulsory in order to compete.

Crab Fest is supported by the State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program, made possible by Royalties for Regions. The Festival is also proudly sponsored by Healthway promoting the LiveLighter message.
